Preserving the World’s Moving Image Heritage
From classic films to groundbreaking television, the UCLA Film & Television Archive safeguards the visual stories that shape our culture. Established in 1965, it is one of the largest repositories of motion pictures and broadcast programming in the United States and the world’s largest university-held collection.
- Rescue, Preserve & Restore: Over 520,000 films, TV programs, newsreels, and radio recordings are conserved in a state-of-the-art facility, called the Packard Humanities Stoa, in Santa Clarita.
- Share, Showcase & Inspire: Public programs run year-round at the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood Village. We loan media to cinematheques and festivals globally, and licensed footage appears in major film and television projects.
- Advance Research & Education: Students, scholars, and researchers access our vast collection for free through the Archive Research and Study Center at UCLA, fueling discovery and innovation.
Your support makes a difference – gifts to the UCLA Film & Television Archive ensure that The Archive protects the collective visual memory of our time and makes it accessible for education, research, and enjoyment. This essential work depends on donors who believe in preserving cultural heritage and advancing scholarship.
Your gift ensures these stories endure for generations to come.
