Dr. Lew Leeburg Memorial Fund for Student Success
As a three-time UCLA alumnus, former student body president, and popular adjunct professor who served in many capacities at UCLA, it was Lew’s passion to ensure the dreams of UCLA students were realized. In. In Lew’s memory, our effort is focused on rallying support from friends and colleagues to collectively celebrate his legacy while benefiting a large number of UCLA students pursuing careers in technology.
The Dr. Lew Leeburg Memorial Fund for Student Success was established to honor Dr. Lew Leeburg’s legacy and advance his vision of connecting UCLA students with Southern California’s technology community. The fund supports transformative learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, empowering students to apply their knowledge in meaningful, real-world settings while advancing their academic and professional development.

Lew was a co-founder of Innovate@UCLA , formerly known as IS Associates (ISA), which unites the local tech community with UCLA to offer exceptional networking, quality professional education, and informed insights into innovative and disruptive technologies. Innovate@UCLA s programs are delivered through close collaboration with world-renowned UCLA faculty, Silicon Beach entrepreneurs, and tech leaders from organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to midsize enterprises, start-ups, the public sector, and other providers.
Through programs such as Innovate@UCLA’s Young Tech Professionals (YTP), students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges through project-based learning, gain hands-on experience alongside industry mentors and coaches, and develop the technical, business, and professional skills needed to succeed in the workforce. By supporting these opportunities, the fund carries forward Dr. Leeburg’s vision of connecting UCLA students with the Southern California technology community while preparing the next generation of innovators to make a meaningful impact.
