In every discipline — archaeology, economics, geography, history, labor studies, political science, sociology and more — the UCLA Division of Social Sciences strives to produce research that’s both academically rigorous and socially useful.

The largest division in the UCLA College and at UCLA, period, we are widely recognized for our interdisciplinary and innovative research, which has transformed entire fields and led to groundbreaking analyses of complex social problems, as well as our active, engaged student body who are committed to applying what they learn for the benefit of all.
