Help the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA create world leaders in medicine and science.
Scholarships and fellowships are critical to recruiting top talent. They also have a ripple effect, as today’s learners become leaders in their professions. They may accelerate disease prevention strategies and the discovery of new treatments and cures. Furthermore, 75 percent of UCLA medical student graduates remain in California for their residency training, meaning they give back to the local community once they graduate.
There is a great support network around these students. A cadre of world-class faculty mentor these learners. The faculty, many of whom trained at UCLA, help prepare graduates for the opportunities and challenges of modern medicine. As well, UCLA medical students have access to impressive facilities including the new 110,000-square-foot Geffen Hall and renowned UCLA Simulation Center, which improves team-based performance, patient safety, and healthcare cost efficiencies.
UCLA educational outreach programs enhance students’ learning. They may participate in student-run free clinics to help treat the county’s most vulnerable citizens. They may also participate in programs that assist aspiring physicians from disadvantaged backgrounds to navigate medical school applications. And, early-career physicians and nurses may be placed in community settings that are designed to directly address health disparities.
Your gift to the Medical Education fund can help poise healthcare leaders and their teams to thrive in medicine and science. Your gift and support may ultimately help these students to provide exceptional care to the people of Los Angeles, the nation and the world.
