Working to fund summer fellowships.
Each summer, Fielding students collectively conduct over 60,000 hours of summer fieldwork in communities across the globe. Summer fieldwork is a critical part of our students’ public health training. It enables them to translate classroom learning into real world skills and to make connections that can help shape their future public health careers.
Yet, many impactful training opportunities are unpaid. Nearly half of our students need support to be able to engage in meaningful summer fieldwork. For example, Rae Spriggs, who received a fellowship for her unpaid summer fieldwork at nonprofit that focuses on environmental health and social justice says, “The fellowship allowed me financial stability for the summer. Without the fellowship, I would have needed to work a second job on late nights and weekends to pay for my living expenses and transportation.”
Help our students conduct summer fieldwork in vulnerable communities, and impact health worldwide, with a generous gift to the FSPH Fieldwork Fund.
