Supporting continuing education for adults 50 and older through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UCLA provides a robust arena for lifelong learning. OLLI offers more than 100 courses across the arts and sciences spectrum — contemporary politics, cosmology and chess, to name a few — for adults age 50 and over. OLLI at UCLA also offers nonacademic, cultural experiences like film screenings and museum tours, providing continued learning inside and outside of the classroom.
The courses, lectures and discussion groups are led by distinguished UCLA faculty and subject-matter experts from a variety of professions, giving students high-quality curricula and innovative courses for the sheer joy of learning.
In addition to fostering intellectual stimulation and insightful discussion, OLLI provides social experiences within the vibrant community of retired and semi-retired adults who share a love of learning and discovery. One of those students, Marlene Zweig, says she “has enjoyed choosing classes from a rich smorgasbord of stimulating subjects, taught by top-notch instructors, while forming satisfying new friendships with other enthusiastic members.”
Student Steven Rosenberg says, “I consider my time spent in my classes at OLLI at UCLA to be one of my best personal and professional return on investments.”
OLLI courses are offered in two locations: in Sherman Oaks and in Westwood’s 28,000-square-foot Gayley Center building.
Your gift to the Osher Lifelong Learning Support Fund ensures that OLLI courses stay fresh, relevant and innovative. Your gift helps keep membership and course fees affordable, and helps keep the program financially stable. Your contribution can help enrich the lives of adults throughout Los Angeles.
OLLI enrollees can choose courses across a diverse array of topics.
At OLLI, students learn via traditional, instructor-led classes.
