Providing life-changing educational experiences for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Education opens doors. For a century, UCLA Extension has been helping adults develop new skills, explore new interests and prepare for new careers. Whether working toward a degree, earning a certificate or just taking a course, UCLA Extension is the bridge to opportunity.
UCLA Extension provides the knowledge and connections for people to achieve personal and professional goals. It is home to a wide range of learners, from professionals seeking more specialized knowledge to new students who may have never experienced higher education.
As the standard-bearer of lifelong learning, UCLA Extension is committed to providing innovative educational programs to meet our community’s needs. One of Extension’s unique initiatives is the Pathway program, a two-year certificate program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Pathway is a learn-by-doing, liberal-arts education that leverages campus-wide resources to create individualized plans for every student’s learning style.
Pathway is a college experience like no other. Graduates develop their academic and social skills, achieve greater independence and build their own pathways to future employment. Each student gains confidence and determination for lifelong learning and daily living.
A college experience is a rite of passage that goes beyond education. It is a personal growth experience during which students learn about other people and themselves. Pathway at UCLA Extension ensures that all young people have access to an education and opportunity.
Contributions to Pathway at UCLA Extension support scholarships for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your gift can forever change a life by providing a path to a bright future.
